JEZEBEL MAGAZINE November
1998 ELAINE HENDRIX Remember the movie this past July, or at least the preview for, The Parent Trap, where Dennis Quaid plays a man being lured by a scheming blonde into marriage while his two cute twin daughters play a number of pranks trying to break the whole thing up? Did you know that the scheming blonde is from Buckhead? In reality, Elaine Hendrix,28, identifies more with the daughters than the evil stepmother-to-be, herself the product of a broken home, although the feelings of resentment weren’t intense enough so as to lead to any outlandish antics (“When my Dad got remarried, I remember jealous feelings, but I didn’t have to resort to any pranks”). Since moving to Hollywood in 1992 to pursue her dream, the former East Cobb resident and eventual Northside School of Performing Arts graduate has been graced with quite a nice string of successful gigs, including roles in Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Showtime’s Fallen Angels, the role of Agent 66 in the remake of Get Smart, the role of Marilyn Munster in The Munster’s Scary Little Christmas, as well as appearances on Ellen, Married…With Children, Evening Shade, and of course The Parent Trap. Hendrix’s homecoming to Atlanta will be
as the Grand Marshall of the 1998 Festival of Trees Christmas Parade for
the Egleston Children’s hospital December 1-3. In the midst of the
crazy world of glitz and glamour that she now calls home, Elaine Hendrix
will always hold a special place in her heart for the city that cultivated
many of her budding skills. As living proof that you never know where
Atlanta’s next star will come from, Hendrix already has a special
place in ours. |
